I’m a writer based in Hawai‘i. I grew up in Boston and studied literature at Brown. My writing has been published by The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and The New York Times. I started out as a reporter for Maui Times (R.I.P.), the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, and Honolulu Civil Beat, where I was one of the first journalists on the ground in Lahaina to cover the fire. The staff was later named a Pulitzer Prize finalist for breaking news reporting on the burn.
